With the return of BBC’s 20th series of Dragons Den this month, and familiar faces Steven Bartlett, Peter Jones and Sara Davies heading up the panel, we look at the brand that left with no investment…which the Dragons may live to regret!

Brothers Harry and Charlie Thuillier stood before the Dragon’s in 2016 to pitch their new, low-calorie, feel good ice cream brand, Oppo Brothers, seeking a £60,000 investment for a 7% equity stake. However after a tense time in the Den the Dragon’s expressed their concerns that this ‘guilt-free’ ice cream, which has 60% less calories and sugar than regular ice cream, and no compromise on taste, was too much of a risky investment…how wrong they were!

Oppo is now one of the leading healthier ice cream brands in Europe. Oppo is stocked in all major UK retailers and in 12 countries across the world, has won eight Great Taste awards and has since gone viral on Tiktok with their latest new creation, Salted Caramel ice cream snacking balls…and with 4 new products planned for Spring 2023 already!

Harry and Charlie founded Oppo in 2014 after two years of experimenting with healthier ice cream combinations in the kitchen. After thousands of attempts, Charlie eventually found a recipe which tasted just as good as the real thing.
