Easter Hot Cross Buns get Nurishment makeover from one of the UK’s leading nutritional milk drinks

One of the UK’s leading nutritional milk drinks has developed a recipe that gives a classic twist to the traditional Easter treat, Hot Cross Buns.

Nurishment, the UK’s no.1 nutritionally enriched milk drink*, has created the Nurishment Hot Cross Bun Bread and Butter Pudding using Nurishment’s Vanilla Flavour Milk Drink for a special Easter treat.

All you need to make the recipe are four hot cross buns, butter for spreading, three eggs, 2 tbsp caster sugar, 1/2 can of Nurishment Vanilla Flavour Milk Drink, chocolate chips and marmalade (optional).

The preparation is easy. Slice four hot cross buns in half and spread butter on them, sprinkle the chocolate chips, mix the eggs, caster sugar and the Nurishment Vanilla Flavour Milk Drink, pour over the hot cross buns, leave to stand for 15 minutes and then bake in the oven for 30-35 minutes before serving with dashes of marmalade on top.

Dorota Dziedzic, Brand Manager at Grace Foods UK, the number one supplier of Caribbean food and drink to the UK, which also makes owns and produces Nurishment, said: “Nurishment is known nationwide for being a delicious, creamy milk drink, enriched with vitamins and minerals that is a good source of protein and calcium. It is ideal for people who lead busy, active lifestyles and who are looking for a nutritious and filling pick-me-up on-the-go.

“Because it is milk based, it is very versatile and is the perfect, tasty addition to a whole range of recipes so it’s a great accompaniment to experiment with in the kitchen.”
