Ecologists at Arbtech have revealed five eco-friendly ways families can repurpose their real Christmas trees after the festive season has finished.
As households prepare to pack away their decorations for another year, those that have chosen a real tree might be wondering what to do with it.
With millions of trees used across the UK each year, improper disposal can have a significant environmental impact, creating unnecessary waste.
Fortunately, there are several environmentally friendly options that can help households minimise their impact while giving their tree a second life.

“And remember, opting for a real tree is still a better choice than an artificial one. While fake trees might seem more convenient, they’re made from non-recyclable materials and take years to break down in landfill.
“A real tree, on the other hand, is biodegradable, renewable, and much kinder to the planet if disposed of properly.”

Turn it into mulch
