Elephant and Castle comes to life over the weekend as it celebrated arts, culture and diversity at Urban Elephant Festival
Over the weekend, Zone 1’s Elephant and Castle celebrated arts, culture, diversity and talent across London and the area of Southwark.
Kicking off last Friday 29th to Sunday 31st of July, visitors indulged in a colourful and vibrant mix of street theatre, circus, dancing and arts, by both renowned professional street theatre performers as well as local community art groups.
The Festival was opened by the Mayor of Southwark and Cllr Martin Seaton at Castle Square in Elephant and Castle and then moved to different locations across the area, where there was a host of activity, from food, kids drawing, live music, dancing to unicyclists. The crowd even got involved and showed their own moves after being inspired from a host of different dance performers including Urban, African, Latino, and tap dancing.
