England’s $1.09B valuation makes it the most expensive team in the 2022 World Cup
As the World Cup approaches, the press and fans will scrutinize the teams to judge their chances in the competition. SafeBettingSites.com has been analyzing the teams too. It concludes that the English team, with a valuation of $1.09B, is the most expensive.
“Gareth Southgate will be brimming with confidence considering the amount of talent his squad has,” says SafeBettingSites.com’s Edith Reads. She adds, “The English squad is full of exciting footballers playing at the highest levels in England and Europe. Their level of skills and experience are the reasons behind the team’s hefty price tag.”
European teams dominate the top 10 most valuable teams
European nations make up the bulk of the competing teams. The EUFA affiliate teams have 13 out of the 32 slots. EUFA member teams also make the majority (7/10) of the top 10 most expensive teams at Qatar 2022. Three CONMEBOL members take up the remaining three slots.
France (2nd) leads the rest of the Eurozone members in the top ten with a valuation of roughly $1B. Spain is the fifth most expensive team, and its playing unit is worth $846M. Portugal (5th) and Germany (7th) follow with valuations of $806M and $798M. Finally, the Netherlands (7th) and Belgium (10th) complete the EUFA septet.
England will be looking to exorcise demons of previous world Cups
Notwithstanding their “most valuable team” tag, the English have their work cut out. A squad’s value doesn’t necessarily indicate their performance, and the World Cup is known to pull surprises. Underdogs like Cameroon have stunned Diego Maradonna-led Argentina in the 1990 WC.
Bar 1966, England’s outings at the WC haven’t brought them and their adoring fans much joy. Its teams have always flattered to deceive. So with Southgate’s current crop of players, there’s a growing expectation that they’ll get it right this time
