ETHICALLY-SOURCED RANGE OF PULSES AND BEANS HITS THE SHELVES

Oddpods – the ethically-sourced brand which is kicking cans to the kerb – has launched its range of quick and easy to use pouched pulses into supermarkets nationwide.

Environmentally-conscious and 100% plant-based, its brown lentils, kidney beans and chickpeas are now available in Sainsbury’s, whilst Ocado is also stocking its chana dal and gungo peas – all priced at £1.75 per 200g pack.

Oddpods are perfect for foodies looking to upgrade their cooking game, vegans and vegetarians seeking a protein-packed meat replacement or the health and environmentally-conscious wanting to reduce meat consumption or add to a meal.

Here’s what you need to know:

Oddpods pack a whopping minimum 20g of protein per pack
They deliver up to 85% more fibre than tinned products, with no additives or preservatives
They are nutritionally superior to their tinned counterparts and generally fresher and tastier
As they are steamed, not boiled, they have a better ‘bite’
The environmental benefits of buying pouched pulses and beans make them appealing to the modern eco-friendly consumer.

Pavan Patel of Oddpods explained: “All traded ethically and sustainably, you can rest assured with Oddpods that you are consuming some of the best quality products around.

“Shipping canned vegetables has a much higher carbon footprint than using pouches, as 40% of the weight in cans is water. With new recyclable packaging coming to Oddpods in January, Oddpods are freshening up the environmental credentials of pulses and beans.”

In their instantly-recognisable colourful pouches which stand out on the shelf, all Oddpods products are ethically-sourced and the brand is involved in initiatives to help promote fair trade.

Pulses and beans have a huge range of uses, from curries to stews and salads to veggie burgers.

Oddpods can be eaten straight from the pouch by themselves or added straight into your cooking to add a super-convenient source of nutrition.

There’s no need to waste time getting the tin opener out, draining and rinsing your pulses and beans. This convenience factor makes them perfect for shoppers looking for no-faff meals.

Oddpods are now available in 272 Sainsbury’s stores nationwide, as well as via Ocado, Booths and Amazon.
