Every day’s a holiday for 75% of park home downsizers
Park home selling specialists, Quickmove Properties, has revealed just what makes the park home sector so appealing to many of the nation’s downsizers, when looking beyond the financial benefit to the lifestyle it provides.
The recent survey of park home owners by Quickmove Properties previously revealed that community and cost are the two biggest draws when it comes to attracting downsizers to the park home lifestyle. Movers benefit from the equity boost released from their bricks and mortar home, when moving to a ready-made community.
But what are the biggest benefits of a park home beyond the initial purchase?
Quickmove Properties asked park home owners to rank the top advantages of living in their park home versus their previous bricks and mortar property.
The fact that a park home is far cheaper and more economical to run ranked top, with many also stating that living in a single level home was also far more beneficial in their later years.
The fact a park home is also easier to maintain came in third, while the more active lifestyle was also an appealing factor.
As many as 75% agreed that living within a residential park home community meant that every day felt like a holiday, highlighting the laid back lifestyle and rural or coastal locations of park home communities.
But it’s not just the pace of life that is highly appealing, 90% of those stated they felt safe living within their residential park.
No surprise then, that 61% wish they had moved to a residential park sooner in life, with 83% stating they would recommend it to others.
Sales Director at Quickmove Properties, Mark O’Dwyer, commented:
“A park home purchase is an attractive proposition for many downsizers as it makes financial sense, especially when using part exchange which allows them to relocate quickly, without fear of their sale collapsing.
However, the real benefit of the park home lifestyle is often only discovered once they make their move and have immersed themselves within the ready made community and active lifestyle on their doorstep.
For the vast majority, life feels like a holiday and while retirement certainly helps in this respect, it’s the community itself that really helps create this environment. We’ve received numerous stories of park home buyers making friends for life and, in some cases, even finding love and getting married.
What’s more, residential park home sites are often gated and incredibly safe and this is a lifestyle factor that is highly appealing to those in their later years.”
