Former Commissioner of the City of London Police joins FACT Board

FACT have today announced the appointment of Ian Dyson QPM, the former Commissioner of the City of London Police, to its board as a Non-Executive Director. His appointment will take effect from 1 September 2022.

Ian Dyson joined the Metropolitan Police in 1983 and later served as Assistant Chief Constable with Surrey Police. He has held all three top ranks in the City of London Police, culminating in six years as Commissioner. As a chief officer, he was the national police lead on Economic Crime, Business Crime, Cybercrime, and Information Technology.

He was awarded the Queen’s Police Medal in 2016 and retired from the police after 38 years of service in January 2022.

Ian has led the City of London Police with distinction and dedication, qualities he demonstrated throughout his police career. His commitment to fighting crime, in particular fraud and cybercrime, and his experience in so many fields of policing, will be a great asset to FACT and our evolving areas of business”.
