FRANKIE & BENNY’S LAUNCH INNOVATIVE FOOD DROP OFF SERVICE CALLED DRONE ‘n’ DELIVER

Top Italian American restaurant Frankie & Benny’s has launched the world’s first drone food delivery service.

The popular restaurant has unveiled the new service after near five years of testing flight and food delivery technology.

The service called ‘Drone ‘n’ Deliver’ will allow people to order food wherever they are and it will be delivered speedily in the air on a drone.

All you need is the Frankie & Benny’s app and a Frankie & Benny’s tracking strap which communicates with the drone and identifies exactly where the user is.

Frankie & Benny’s has developed the project in partnership with leading tech and aviation specialists and have also secured special air traffic control licences allowing the drones to flight up to 300 feet across the UK.

The Drone ‘n’ Deliver service will be in service next month and will allow people to order Frankie’s classic Italian American dishes anywhere from a motorway traffic jam to the top of the Welsh hills.

Frankie & Benny’s announced the new service on its social media channels and the first 100 people to use the food delivery scheme will get free food with no delivery costs as well as free straps.

After next month’s launch delivery will cost the same as most food high street delivery companies and can only be ordered through the Frankie & Benny’s website (please note additional delivery charges may apply to some Scottish Highland areas).

The spectacular London launch party will include a demonstration of the metre long carbon fibre drones by one of the aviation experts. There will also be a number of celebrity guests who will enjoy Frankie & Benny’s much loved garlic pizza bread with gooey mozzarella, classic Frankie meatballs, creamy carbonara as well as extensive vegan offerings.

Sasha Storey, Frankie & Benny’s Head of Brand, said: “At Frankie & Benny’s we believe that innovative tech will allow us to be the market leader with this new food delivery system.

“It has taken years of development, choosing the right drones, creating effective heat containers and a ventilation system which allows the food to stay fresh no matter where you are. We are looking forward to embracing the future of food delivery!”
