FRANKIE & BENNY’S PROVE THAT LOVE IS ACTUALLY ALL AROUND AFTER GIVING AWAY A FREE ENGAGEMENT PARTY AND £2,000 RINGS

Top Italian American restaurant Frankie & Benny’s has given away a FREE engagement party and a pair of rings worth £2000 for Valentine’s.

The popular restaurant launched the ultimate cost-of-living-crisis busting proposal for romantics who want to get engaged.

The team at Frankie & Benny’s were shocked by the number of applications for the FREE Proposal offer, with over 300 entries across their social media.

The lucky couple were David George and Aaron Mackay from Portsmouth who celebrated this weekend after popping the question, ‘Will you marry me?’.

David, 35, and Aaron 34, who works in theatre marketing, had always dreamed of getting engaged but due to the cost of living and supporting David’s mother through ill health had put their dreams on hold. Having regularly visited Frankie & Benny’s throughout their years of dating, it seemed like the perfect spot to celebrate their love – and even better, as a surprise for Aaron.
The couple enjoyed a three-course dinner at Frankie & Benny’s last Friday to ‘celebrate Aaron’s birthday’ and when their pizzas arrived one said, ‘Will You’ and the other said ‘Marry Me?’. David then got down on one knee, held out the ring and asked Aaron if he would marry him. He said yes!

As the lucky couple embraced, the restaurant erupted in applause and cheers of joy. David and Aaron were whisked into a private celebration space upstairs to enjoy the moment together, with 15 close friends and family appearing shortly after to toast their engagement with a Prosecco party and nibbles!

David George, 35, said: “The proposal was so emotional, lots of cheering, crying and full of happiness. We hope to be married by this summer and if not, next year for sure.

“The proposal night went so quick and it was so enjoyable I want to do it all again! Getting down on one knee was the highlight and having the pizza’s read ‘Will You’ and ‘Marry Me’ created so much confusion for Aaron. I played along with it for a split second and then he really was in shock when I opened a mini pizza box to showcase the rings. We just cried and had a round of big applause from everyone. It was very special, it will be one of our go-to’s for life as our first date was there.”

David added: “We’ve just celebrated our seventh year anniversary and believe it or not, our first dates were always held at Frankie and Benny‘s Gunwarf Quays Portsmouth. Frankie & Benny’s – it just all works!”
