FREE DRINKS FOR THE FREE SPIRITED AT THE CULPEPER AND THE DUKE OF CAMBRIDGE, LONDON

This September, pioneering independent Scottish whisky distillery Nc’nean(www.ncnean.com) teams up with eco-conscious London pubs The Culpeper(www.theculpeper.com) and The Duke of Cambridge (www.dukeorganic.com) to launch Whisky Six Wednesdays – a unique aperitivo hour where free spirited drinkers can redeem a free drink.

The partnership will launch on Wednesday 1st September 2021 at both venues and run every Wednesday throughout September from 6-7pm. For one hour only every Whisky Six Wednesday, Nc’nean’s signature Whisky Six serve will be available free of charge for anyone who can make a pledge for what they’re going to do differently in life, via Nc’nean’s website here. Whether it’s going zero waste for a month, cycling to work, or simply not checking emails outside work hours – this partnership wants to encourage positive change.

Known for a quietly rebellious approach to whisky production, the partnership is the latest step in Nc’nean’s mission to change the way the world thinks about Scotch whisky. The Whisky Six combines Nc’nean Organic Single Malt Whisky with soda water and a sprig of mint for a delicious, long and refreshing drink. It’s a welcome alternative to a gin and tonic, and a different take on how whisky is often served and enjoyed.

The Whisky Six partnership with The Culpeper and The Duke of Cambridge will celebrate the ‘golden hour’ – an early evening moment to enjoy a different take on an aperitivo, on the house. With both partners aligned in their commitment to driving zero waste[1] and sustainability in the industry, this is a drink and moment designed to reflect life’s shifting patterns and bold choices: one where we encourage new experiences and fresh takes on old ones.

Doing things differently is at the forefront of Nc’nean’s business, especially when it comes to sustainability. The distillery has recently been verified as net zero for distillery operations (scope 1 and 2), is certified organic and only uses a 100% recycled clear glass bottle for its whisky (an industry first). In the spirit of doing things differently, Nc’nean experiments with different yeasts in distilling and has also launched a category defining Botanical Spirit.

Also known for its sustainability credentials, The Culpeper and The Duke of Cambridge – Britain’s first organic pub/restaurant – will be open as usual for the duration of the partnership. Built on a basis of heartfelt hospitality, with people and sustainability at its core, The Culpeper Family Hospitality Group comprises four London pubs. Each locale is as distinct as the building, history and people inside them, but they all share a strong set of values to uplift, inspire and brighten our guests’ day, whilst always looking after our team and the environment. Produce has a stringent focus on seasonality, quality ingredients, high standards of animal welfare and responsible sourcing.

Annabel Thomas, Founder of Nc’nean says: “As part of our ongoing mission to change the way the world thinks about Scotch whisky, I am really excited to share my favourite way to drink Nc’nean with The Culpeper and The Duke of Cambridge. Two pubs with share so many similar values with us.

Is a light and refreshing drink and a welcome break from gin and tonic and existing whisky perspectives if you want to try something new. In my eyes, the perfect 6pm serve for enjoying on one of London’s best rooftops.”

Nico Treguer, Co-Founder at The Culpeper Family says: “Sustainability is at the core of everything we do, so we are excited to partner with Nc’nean who is at the forefront of environmentally friendly innovation in the whisky industry.

At The Culpeper, we have the same ethos and shared interested of being as organic and zero waste as possible – but ultimately it comes down to doing things differently, and this what we want to encourage more people to do by trying a Whisky Six.”
