Free online ordering to help businesses offering free school meals

As half term begins, with the government refusing to fund free school meals for vulnerable children in England over the holidays, the hospitality industry is putting its own troubles on hold to help children in need.

Many restaurants, cafes and pubs across the UK are offering free meals to anyone struggling to provide food for their children. In turn, in order to support these businesses, F+B To Go will enable online ordering, digital menus and order tracking. It’s simple to use, has unlimited products and can be operational within an hour.

Digital menus can be shared on social media via link on or QR code or embedded on the restaurant’s website, so that additional orders can be managed without being too disruptive to their usual business. The system offers a discreet, sensitive way to deal with requests for a free school meal; parents don’t need to explain their situation, just order and turn up at the right time to collect their food.

Café Menza at Henley Ruby Club is offering free meals to vulnerable children this week, and has been using F+B To Go to take orders. Owners, Niki and Szabi said,

“As a community business, we felt strongly about supporting families in need over half term. We wanted to get quickly set up with a system that would allow online ordering, would help us to track orders, but would also help us to carry on with our normal day to day business as much as possible.

F+B To Go has been a lifesaver. Our 5 day menu was set up in no time, and offers parents the opportunity to order free food, from their devices without any embarrassment.

We’re really proud to be helping our local community and thankful to have this free tool to help us.”

F+B To Go is a completely free tool developed in the wake of COVID-19. The Co-Founders of Kitchen CUT saw the devastating impact of the virus on businesses globally and wanted to offer a lifeline to help generate revenue at a time of need. The platform enables businesses to move their offering online and get set up for delivery or click+collect, providing a contactless, safe trading environment.

Since launching, the platform has gone from strength to strength, with a wealth of features to make online ordering seamless, whether from home on in venue. Users can create branded, digital menus that can be embedded on their website, or accessed via link or QR Code. There are fully customisable delivery and collection time slots, item counters (the system will stop taking orders when stock has run out), delivery areas can be defined and a live production dashboard fully tracks and monitors the order process. In order to keep customers incentivised, businesses can offer promotional codes and discounts which can all be created and processed simply and quickly on the system. Payments are taken online so that the whole process is completely contactless and safe for both staff and customers.

There are no set up fees, no subscription fees for the software and no limits to the number of products on offer. This software is free to use, irrespective of EPOS, Stock system or menu management system. Businesses of any size and any location can sign up on any device and be operational within the hour.
