Fresh look for Jungle Grill as refurb shakes things up
Fans of popular Cheetham Hill steak specialist Jungle Grill are in for a treat after it opens its doors again following a major summer refurbishment.
The venue on Bury Old Road, which serves steak, grilled chicken, gourmet burgers, burritos, subs, bagels, shakes and salads for take away or with the option of dining in, has a fresh new look after closing for the work to be completed.
Now it is set to open again on Saturday 16th September and the decor isn’t the only element to have been tweaked, with smashed-style burgers being added to the menu, along with stir fries, wraps and a vegetarian selection.
The restaurant is the original branch of what is now a successful franchise business, with franchisees all over the UK for the chain that was “born in Manchester” in 2015. It has 5 in the city alone, along with one in Bradford and another in Copenhagen, Denmark.
It was created by local entrepreneur Safraz Sharif who has continued to expand the operation with a focus on fresh food and quality ingredients.
Safraz said;
‘We’re really pleased with the new look and feel of the place and the new menu. We’ve been planning this refurb for a long time but these project timings are often tricky, especially considering the challenges the sector has faced in the last few years.
‘The catering team and I debated all sorts of changes for the menu, listening to our customers and I think the new smashed burgers will prove very popular. They are a little more rugged, more crispy and yet more succulent, as they get a fantastic caramelisation from the searingly hot flat-grill. Partner them with our freshly baked bread and you have a winning combination!’
The refurb has seen Safraz’s already busy diary get even fuller, as he balances his business interests with his charity work, which has seen him travel to the Ukraine, Greece, Pakistan, Yemen and Palestine to provide support where he can, as part of Muslims In Need, Hope For Mankind and the Greengate Trust.
Closer to home, during the peak of the pandemic, Safraz was providing weekly meals to the homeless, along with soup kitchens as he balanced work, family and philanthropy.
‘I’m a busy man but I like to help where I can,’ concludes Saf. ‘I’m off to Pakistan in September to help with a project at an orphanage but right now my focus is on relaunching Cheetham Hill. It was my first ever restaurant so I do have a soft spot for it!”
