GMB RESPONDS TO ASDA SELECT COMMITTEE APPEARANCE

Asda is trying to cut the pay of 7,000 retail workers, says GMB Union
GMB, the union for Asda workers, responded to the supermarket’s appearance before a Parliamentary committee today [Wednesday]
Nadine Houghton, GMB National Officer, said:
“the Business Committee asked ASDA for answers on a potential gap of £1.7 billion in their reported operating costs.
“While ASDA are trying to cut the pay of 7,000 low paid retail workers, GMB members too will want to know what this £1.7 billion has been spent on.
“ASDA agreed to get back to the Committee with answers and we look forward to seeing them.”
