Halcyon Days expects sales of £1 million for the Coronation

To celebrate the Coronation of King Charles III and to commemorate the legacy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, Halcyon Days has created five limited edition Coronation Collections to honour and mark such an historic and special occasion. The British company is the only entirely handmade factory within the UK and expects sales of over £1 million for its sales for the Coronation. To supply this demand, Halcyon Days has increased its workforce by 20% since January to create an additional 150,000 products.

Pamela Harper, Chairman and CEO of Halcyon Days says, “We have seen unprecedented demand for our Coronation collections. As a Royal Warrant holder and the sole historical Suppliers of Objets d’Art to the British Royal Family, we have always seen our sales surge during royal occasions, However, the King’s Coronation is truly a momentous occasion and we have been overwhelmed by demand. To prepare, we have increased our workforce by 20% since January and have created an additional 150,000 products for our Coronation collections. I am delighted to see consumers from the UK and abroad alike continue to celebrate the best of Britain.”

Pamela Harper is also a supporter of the campaign to restore tax free shopping for international tourists, having signed an open letter to the Chancellor calling for a rethink and backed by more than 150 businesses.

Pamela says, “We very much hope that the Government will reverse the decision on VAT. We are thinking not only of the impact on the sales of luxury items, which of course are important for us as those sales help us to protect jobs in our important manufacturing units, but also to support London’s wider economy and to maintain its position as the capital city most wish to visit, which is rather sadly becoming not the case at the moment. Given the Coronation this week will attract a huge amount of tourists it is unfortunate that we are not doing all we can to entice them to spend whilst they are here given the tax incentives and the cost of luxury products are more compelling in Europe – it is a missed opportunity for the UK economy.”

A SELECTION OF THE PRODUCTS FROM HALCYON DAYS’ CORONATION COLLECTIONS

CORONATION GOLD COLLECTION
Adorned with gold depictions of oak leaves and acorns, the mighty oak has been venerated over the millennia by Kings as a symbol of enduring strength and represents the embodiment of God through its constancy over time. In the centre, the Royal cypher is accompanied by the date of
His Majesty’s Coronation.

THE NATURAL WORLD COLLECTION
Featuring elements of the British countryside, the collection is inspired by The King’s love for nature and adorned with enchanting woodland creatures and an abundant array of flora and fauna. In the centre of the design, the Royal cypher is accompanied by the date of His Majesty’s Coronation.

CORONATION AT WESTMINSTER BY TUG RICE
Tug Rice is a New York based illustrator and close collaborator with Halcyon Days. His fun, eminently charming depiction of The Coronation at Westminster Abbey captures the beaming faces of the jubilant and jostling crowds. Overwhelmed with excitement and eager in anticipation, the masses congregate. Marvelling at the grandeur of this spectacular ceremony, they line the streets of Westminster cheering on as they catch a glimpse of the new Sovereign, His Majesty King Charles III and Her Majesty The Queen Consort in the Gold State Coach.

MARCHING DOWN THE MALL COLLECTION BY TUG RICE
Tug Rice’s second Coronation collection for Halcyon Days delightfully illustrates The King’s Foot Guards marching down The Mall playing their brass instruments and corps of drums.

LIFE GUARDS ON PARADE BY TUG RICE
Under the gentle spring sun and bright blue skies, the Life Guards in their crimson cloaks and plumed helmets ride joyfully by Buckingham Palace. As we enter a time of rebirth, renewal, and reflection: the earth opens nature’s treasure chest. The nascent leaves have that soft green hue, and the ground is scattered with vivid blooms whose petals dance in the breeze under-hoof.
