HOUSEBUILDER SUPPORTS THE ARTS IN HOUGHTON REGIS

Local theatre company TADS Theatre has recently received a £1000 donation from housebuilder Barratt Homes, who is building its Linmere development nearby on Betony Meadows in Houghton Regis. The theatre group also recently starred in the housebuilder’s photoshoot at its Linmere development.

Established in 1960, TADS provides a thriving and supportive community for local actors, actress, producers, and directors to learn and develop their skills further. Today, the theatre offers its students an opportunity to study all forms of acting, singing, dancing, stage management and scenery. The group works closely with the local community, offering a range of events for all ages including TADS Teens, a monthly book club session and the chance to participate in theatre productions which run throughout the year.

Steven Pryer, Chairman at TADS Theatre, commented: “TADS Theatre Group was delighted to receive £1000 funding recently from Barratt Homes. We also had great fun helping with the photo shoot at its new housing project Linmere in Houghton Regis. We are using the funds towards our own building project, and we will be replastering the walls around the stage in our Theatre. Many thanks to Barratt Homes, your donation and the work that it supports will have a lasting benefit to our community.”

The donation is part of the housebuilder’s Community Fund initiative through which £1,000 is donated to a charity local to its developments each month.
