HOUSEBUILDER TAKES SWIFT ACTION ON NEIGHBOURHOOD WILDLIFE CONSERVATION

Local housebuilder David Wilson Homes has this month supported the Greenhavens Network’s Wilder Garden project in Peacehaven, which aims to educate members of the local community on the importance of protecting local wildlife. The housebuilder, who is behind the Chalkers Rise development on Pelham Rise in Peacehaven, East Sussex, recently made a £1000 donation to the project.

Having launched at the beginning of 2021, Greenhavens Network’s ‘Wilder Garden’ project aims to protect nature in Newhaven by working with residents to help make their gardens habitable for wildlife. The donation from David Wilson Southern Counties supports project, which encourages residents to protect local bat, bee, moth, and bird populations by making changes to their gardens and green spaces, and documenting via surveys and research. The funds from David Wilson Southern Counties will be used to purchase swift and bat boxes to be installed in local gardens.

Lynnette St-Quintin, Sales & Marketing Director for David Wilson Southern Counties, comments: “Wherever we build new homes, we are committed to preserving and protecting the local wildlife. We are pleased to support the Wilder Garden project and do our part to help residents to get involved in local wildlife conservation, which aligns so closely with our own measures to protect swifts at our Chalkers Rise development in nearby Peacehaven.”

Jessie, the Wilder Garden Coordinator at the Greenhavens Network said: “It has been a pleasure working with the local community on our Wilder Gardens project, and this donation from David Wilson Southern Counties has allowed us to continue to expand our efforts. I am continually inspired by the positive impact communities are making on their green spaces and we feel truly privileged at Greenhavens Network to be making a difference to biodiversity with so many dedicated and passionate people.”

David Wilson Southern Counties is building a selection of three and four-bedroom homes at its Chalkers Rise development in Peacehaven, where prices start from £349,995 for a three-bedroom home.
