Last chance for north London good causes to win big
Charities, community groups and clubs in north London have one last chance to try and win their share of a £15,000 prize pot.
Enfield-based leading heating, plumbing and air movement materials supplier TG Lynes launched its Helping Hands competition last month, giving good causes the chance to win big and make significant improvements to their facilities.
One overall winner will secure £10,000 worth of product and materials to enhance their building, while a lucky runner-up will receive £5,000 worth of equipment.
Entries have been pouring in from across the area – with the nomination period set to end at midnight on September 30.
“We have had some fantastic entries already from a wide variety of organisations,” said Andrew Ingram, Managing Director of TG Lynes.
“There is now less than two weeks left for good causes to get involved and stake their claim for up to £10,000 worth of building materials.
“My advice would be to not leave it until the last minute – hop onto our website today and tell us why your group deserves to be a Helping Hand champion.”
This is the third year TG Lynes has run Helping Hands having launched the initiative in the aftermath of the Covid-19 pandemic. So far, the business has dished out support worth £30,000, making a significant difference to the four winning groups, which include The Ruth Winston Centre and Friends of Firs Farm.
Any group or organisation based in the Enfield vicinity – extending south to Hornsey, north to Hoddesdon, east to Epping and west to Barnet – is eligible to enter.
Entries can be made at https://www.tglynes.co.uk/page/campaigns/helping-hands-2024. Groups must provide an overview of what the organisation does, how it benefits the community and how £10,000 worth of product would help.
Andrew added: “We are a business with history of more than 110 years. This year we celebrated 20 years in Enfield, having relocated from King’s Cross in 2004.
“Those last two decades have been extremely successful for the business and we are committed to giving back by supporting worthy organisations in the local area.”
TG Lynes stocks industry leading brands and supplies thousands of products including valves, steel and copper tubes and fittings, press systems, composite and plastic plumbing, drainage solutions and support systems and tooling. An extensive plant hire service is also available.
