Lawrence Tijjani: Social edtech entrepreneur for media quotes, comment and features
London-born social entrepreneur Lawrence Tijjani is a former teacher, the co-founder of technology consultancy Happy2Host and the founder of Just A Guy, a social enterprise which empowers young people to reach their full potential by helping them to acquire the interpersonal skills required to thrive as adults and boost employability prospects.
Lawrence’s journey is anything but standard. Having failed all but one GCSE, he retook his exams in college, then went on to successfully study for his A-Levels. He was diagnosed with Idiopathic Epilepsy at 17, and recurrent seizures and periods of hospitalisation followed. After suffering a severe seizure – which resulted in physiotherapy and the use of crutches for four months due to a total loss of strength in the knees –Lawrence decided to focus his time and efforts on further developing his business and do more to help students and educators.
Just A Guy was born out of Lawrence’s recovery. A motivational speaker and passionate advocate for education, Lawrence is keen to share his journey through adversity, physical and mental health struggles, business acumen and non-traditional academic path to inspire young people.
