LOCAL HOUSEBUILDER HELPS ASHFORD PUPILS TO FIND A VOICE
The housebuilder, who is building its Chilmington Green development in Ashford, Kent, has donated £500 to the charity.
Founded in 1996, Find a Voice is dedicated to helping adults and young people with a severe speech, language or communication difficulty by using tailored communication therapy techniques. The donation from Barratt Kent will help the charity to purchase much-needed tools and support aids for young people, including dedicated iPads with inbuilt speech-learning programs, which can be loaned out to schools, nurseries and individuals for free as part of Find a Voice’s outreach service.
Angela Reynolds, General Manager at Find a Voice, said: “We are grateful for Barratt Kent’s donation, which will go a long way towards supporting students with additional language needs in Ashford. As fundraising opportunities have been limited over the last year, we are committed to making sure that we continue to deliver our programme to support young people with speech and language difficulties. The additional funds from Barratt Kent will help us to deliver key equipment to our beneficiaries when they need it the most.”
Natalie Perry, Sales and Marketing Director at Barratt Kent, said: “To be able to effectively communicate is a skill that many of us take for granted. We are proud to support Find a Voice, where our donation will go towards providing life enhancing technology for students, and allow them to continue to access the support they need to make their voices be heard.”
Barratt Kent is currently building a selection of three and four-bedroom homes at its Chilmington Green development in Ashford, where prices start from £394,995 for a three-bedroom family home, available with Help to Buy
