LOCAL HOUSEBUILDER SPONSORS A NURSE WITH £1000 DONATION
Local housebuilder Barratt Homes, who is behind the Aylesham Village development just outside of Canterbury, Kent, has recently donated £1,000 in support of Pilgrims Hospice’s ‘Sponsor a Nurse’ initiative.
Barratt Kent’s donation will go towards paying for essential nursing supplies as well as providing many hours of specialist nursing care to patients. The program provides trained nurses to provide care to patients needing support during the final period of their life. The hospice offers free care and support to more than 2,500 patients with terminal illness every year, providing community, clinic, and home visits to the community.
The donation was made as part of Barratt Kent’s Community Fund, which sees the housebuilder donate £1,000 per month to a local charity or organisation in Kent.
Kate Duddell,Fundraising Manager for Pilgrims Hospices, said: “As a charity that relies on public contributions for 75% of our running costs, this generous donation allows us to continue to provide this crucial service to members of the local community. We thank Barratt Kent for us, their help is greatly appreciated by the families whose loved ones these nurses support every day.”
Natalie Perry, Sales and Marketing Director of Barratt Kent, adds: “We are really pleased to support the ‘Sponsor a Nurse’ initiative at Pilgrims Hospice charity. We are all conscious of the caring work undertaken at hospices, especially at this time when visitor numbers have been limited. We are thankful for organisations like Pilgrims Hospices, who have continued to give support to those who need it during these challenging times.”
