‘Lost in Shanghai’ Brunch at Hakkasan Hanway Place with Rock Angel and Las Olas Spiced Rum

Hakkasan Hanway Place’s brunch series, ‘Lost in Shanghai’ has introduced a new partnership with Las Olas Spiced Rum. Launched earlier this year, the brunch is inspired by the East Asian metropolis, where elegance meets energy, for true escapism.

Guests can expect a Las Olas cocktail upon arrival, followed by a selection of dishes from the decadent set menu. To start, classic steamed and fried dim sum to share such as the Har Gau with Gold Leaf, the XO scallop and prawn shumai and the Edamame Puff alongside the iconic Hakkasan Crispy duck salad. Main courses include Stir fry black pepper rib eye with Merlot, the Singapore Chilli Prawn, or the Peppercorn Soy Crispy Chicken with a selection of side dishes. To end, an impressive platter featuring miniature versions of signature desserts served dramatically amidst dry ice, paired with mini Las Olas Crystal Colada. A Vegetarian version of the brunch is also available.

On the drinks side, each guest will be served a bottle of Rock Angel rose, from the celebrated Château d’Esclans winery in Provence (best known for Whispering Angel). Rock Angel’s complex and structured profile is a sophisticated offering with a Sancerre-like minerality, which is particularly well suited to the sweet and savoury notes of the modern Cantonese cuisine at Hakkasan.

Cocktail wise, a choice of Las Olas cocktail is offered, including a Twisted Daiquiri (with Las Olas rum, makrut lime, blackberry, lime), a Crystal Colada (Las Olas rum, pineapple, lime, clarified coconut milk, supasawa) or an Espresso Martini (Las Olas rum, Ojo De Dios Cafe, Cold Brew Coffee, espresso). Founded in East London, Las Olas is distilled in the Caribbean and blended in London using vegan and organic dried ingredients such as golden cherries, roasted coffee beans and hand-zedded citrus. It’s the new wave of rum, carving a community within innovative cocktail culture.

Guests will be immersed in a dynamic fusion of beats from various guest DJs at each event alongside live theatrical performances creating a vibrant atmosphere evoking the buzz of the Chinese capital. The dark and mysterious interiors that Hakkasan is renowned for will provide the ultimate cinematic backdrop for this gastronomic and sensory treat.

The Lost in Shanghai brunch menu is £128 per person including a cocktail, three courses to be enjoyed, and a bottle of Rock Angel, Château d’Esclans per person. Guests can upgrade their brunch to include the Hakkasan Peking Duck, which includes a first course of whole duck with pancakes and a second course served with a choice of sauce (£130). This can be enjoyed with the additional luxe option of caviar from £190.
