Today is the launch of Marie Curie’s Great Daffodil Appeal – the charity’s biggest annual fundraising campaign held every March.

To mark the occasion, Marie Curie created a daffodil artwork made of 4,129 LED tea lights in Greenwich – representing the number of people Marie Curie looked after in their hospices and homes per month last year.

Some images feature Marie Curie Healthcare Assistant Beth Namara, 43, who has worked for the charity for seven years. Speaking about her job she says:

“People ask us what makes a Marie Curie Nurse different. For me, it’s that you will always see Marie Curie Nurses smiling. I myself am always calm, smiling, and approachable – ready to help the patients, their family and friends, and other healthcare professionals working in partnership with me.”
