Matt Hancock sees odds slashed to be crowned King of the Jungle
Former Health Secretary and MP for West Suffolk Matt Hancock has had his odds to win this year’s I’m a Celebrity slashed on William Hill following his debut appearance on the show.
Hancock’s odds fell from 33-1 to 14-1 to be crowned this year’s King of the jungle after he brought back 6 out of 11 stars to the camp, along with comedian Seann Walsh.
The pair have been labelled as moles and have been instructed to carry out certain tasks to complete in order to gain luxury items for their fellow campmates.
Many of the original campmates on this year’s series were unimpressed by the MP’s arrival. A few of them question his intentions and reasons for deciding to take part in the reality show while still being a sitting MP.
However, he still remains behind strong favourites Lioness Jill Scott (15-8) and former rugby player Mike Tindall (10-3) who have been in the front running since the lineup was announced.
Matt Hancock has been voted for by the public to take part in tonight’s trial Tentacles of Terror in order to win stars to feed his fellow campmates.
Other celebrities who are in the front running to be named King or Queen of the jungle are Radio DJ Chris Moyles (9-2) and Hollyoaks actor Owen Warner (8-1).
Lee Phelps, a spokesperson for William Hill says” Despite not being near the front his odds could climb again after tonight depending on how he performs during this trial”
“Hancock has a steep hill to climb to get people on his side both in the camp and the public if he stands any chance of winning”
“Most likely people will keep him in just to see him eat something disgusting”
