MAYOR OF BARNET JOINS BARRATT LONDON TO CELEBRATE TOPPING OUT
Barratt London was joined by the Worshipful the Mayor of the London Borough of Barnet, Councillor Alison Cornelius, along with Deputy Leader of Barnet Council, Councillor David Longstaff, on Wednesday 2nd March, to celebrate the Topping Out of Ivy Apartments at the housebuilder’s Millbrook Park development on Bittacy Hill.
As part of the ceremony, the Worshipful the Mayor of the London Borough of Barnet, Councillor Alison Cornelius, was presented with a ceremonial trowel by Barratt London Project Director, Danny Masters, and was invited to pour concrete on the top of the roof at Ivy Apartments, marking the latest block structurally complete and the final phase of this four year scheme.
Councillor Alison Cornelius, the Worshipful the Mayor of the London Borough of Barnet, comments: “I am honoured to have been invited to this ceremony to mark the build completion of Ivy Apartments. As Barratt London approaches the end of its work on site, it’s great to see the progress which has been made at the development. With over 2,000 new homes being built, this consortium will bring a new community to Mill Hill and will provide much needed new housing for the residents of Barnet.”
Councillor David Longstaff, Deputy Leader of the Council, said: “Built on the former Army barracks in Mill Hill, the site has a significant history in the local community.
The creation of these homes, along with a range of new parks and green spaces, a primary school and a public plaza filled with restaurants and shops, will allow the site to provide a new communal hub for the residents of Barnet. I’d like to thank Barratt London for inviting me to the Topping Out ceremony, and for all of the work done by the housebuilder on site.”
Danny Masters, Barratt London Project Director, comments: “The topping out of Ivy Apartments signifies a key milestone at Millbrook Park. I’d like to thank both the Mayor and Cllr David Longstaff for joining us to mark the occasion. We saw Millbrook Park as an opportunity to breath new life into this historic former Army barracks and create not just a selection of new homes, but a brand-new community in its place. As we approach the end of our sales process on site, we were excited to welcome the Councillors to see the development in its final stages, and showcase what we hope will be a bright future for the new residents.”
Barratt London are currently selling the final phase of homes at the development, which will be ready to move into this summer.
