Meghan Markle wears Princess Diana’s ring that symbolises trust and sympathy
Prince Harry and Megan Markle attended the Ripple of Hope Gala in New York City last night, where they were honoured with the 2022 Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights Ripple of Hope Award.
The Duchess of Sussex wore a white off-the-shoulder dress with a subtle center leg slit, accessorising with a particularly sentimental and symbolic ring – Princess Diana’s Asprey Aquamarine ring.
Diamond specialists at UK retailer Steven Stone have revealed everything you need to know about the enchanting sparkler.
The striking aquamarine emerald cut cocktail ring features an emerald cut aquamarine flanked by small solitaire diamonds – the eye-catching aquamarine was given to Princess Diana by her friend, Lucia Flecha de Lima, and created into a ring by Asprey in 1996.
While many people claim the aquamarine ring was commissioned as a replacement for Diana’s sapphire engagement ring after their divorce in 1997, it was only worn on two occasions before her tragic death.
The ring, set on a 24 carat yellow gold band, was passed down to Prince Harry who gave it to Meghan Markle to wear for the couple’s wedding reception.
Aquamarine’s are often associated with tranquility, serenity, clarity, and harmony. As the first of the spring birthstones, the sea blue crystal represents transformation and rebirth. It embodies youthful vitality, purity, loyalty, hope, and truth.
Our experts estimate its value to be £85,000

Aquamarine is one of the most visually beautiful gemstones. With an enchanting pale blue colour, the ring was a perfect addition to Meghan’s Ripple of Hope Gala outfit and carries a great deal of sentiment with it – not only did it belong to Meghan’s late mother in law, Princess Diana, but the Duchess wore it as her “something blue” on her wedding day in 2018.
Having been passed down to Meghan Markle from Harry, it’s interesting to know that the Aquamarine’s light blue colour symbolises feelings of sympathy, trust, and friendship – particularly ahead of the couple’s upcoming Netflix docuseries, which premieres tomorrow.
While the ring is no doubt priceless, if it were available to buy, it would be worth around £85,000.”
