“Meghan will be nervous about this book.”
A NEW biography on Meghan Markle is likely to leave her nervous, a Royal expert has claimed.
US Commentator Kinsey Scholfield said that Tom Bower’s biography ‘Revenge’ had the potential to give Meghan and Prince Harry sleepless nights.
She told GB News: “I think specifically with Tom Bower, I don’t think he’s ever actually lost a lawsuit and several of the people that he’s written about have pursued him and gone after him in court. He’s very meticulous with his notes.
“This guy knows what he’s doing. And there was a story out when we initially found out that he was writing this book that Megan was particularly nervous about this biography, because Tom Bower does have that reputation for being so good.”
The book, which is being serialised in The Sun and Times, details the Sussexes’ falling-out with other royals including a particular focus on Prince Philip’s funeral last year. In one extract, The Queen is said to have commented “Thank goodness Meghan isn’t coming’ at the Duke of Edinburgh’s funeral in April 2021.
Schofield added: “I think the one that everybody’s really surprised by is that the Queen allegedly said, ‘Thank goodness that Megan was not at Prince Philip’s Memorial’.It was surprising to hear something like that come from the Queen who is so notoriously private.”
Her comments come after it emerged Meghan’s refusal to reconcile with her father is believed to have “irritated” the Queen and Prince Charles.
In the run-up to Megan and Harry’s wedding in May 2018, the couple’s relationship with the Duchess of Sussex’s dad Thomas Markle came under the spotlight.
Thomas had hit out at the “outdated” royal family in TV interviews as well as claiming he did not attend the royal nuptials due to being embarrassed for staging awkward paparazzi photos in the build-up to the ceremony at Windsor Castle.
Meghan and Harry’s apparent refusal to mend the rift is said to have caused confusion at the palace, with both the Queen and Charles suggesting the Duchess fly out to speak to her father, according to a new book.
According to an extract in The Sun from ‘Revenge: Meghan, Harry and the war between the Windsors’, written by author and investigative journalist Tom Bower, Prince Harry and Meghan gave their reasons for not reconciling with Thomas, but the inconsistencies had started to irk Charles.
Harry is believed to have explained to the Prince of Wales that Meghan did not phone or email her father due to suspicions that they were both compromised.
By July 2018 Charles’ irritation had reportedly reached boiling point and he addressed the situation with his youngest son.
