Mini Mode – Global Kids Fashion Week First Virtual Runway Show Makes Its Mark During LFW

Founded by UK childrenswear designer, Amanda Rabor, Mini Mode provides a unique spotlight on kid’s fashion, from toddlers through to teens. Mini Mode is about empowerment and building self-esteem for kids, whilst providing a new platform for the global kids’ fashion industry, which champions diversity and promotes inclusivity on every level.

Mini Mode Sponsored by Harumika comprised of two spectacular virtual runway shows that showcased both established and emerging childrenswear designers from around the globe, including Chases Closet (UK), Kate Hill (UK & Spain), Maison Loulabelle (Nigeria), Neeva D London (UK), Rock and Mouse (Latvia) and She’s Fierce by Cara (UK). The Industry Show featured the latest A/W2021 collections and the Consumer Show featured the latest See-Now-Buy-Now collections for S/S2021 with adorable ‘mini’ models showcasing the latest childrenswear collections on the runway.

This season Mini Mode teamed up with Harumika, an award-winning toy brand that combines art, craft and fashion and VIP Pets Mini Fans, a fashionable and collectible range of dolls with a passion for hairstyling, just like their idols’ VIP Pets, who sponsored Mini Mode’s Virtual Show. Harumika’s themed toy mannequin collections inspired creativity for kids at Mini Mode. VIP Pets Mini Fans worked with the Mini Mode team to create a collection of show-stopping wigs for the show’s models to wear on the runway, duplicating the long, colourful hairstyles of the VIP Pets Mini Fans dolls.

Amanda Rabor, Founder and CEO of Mini Mode says: “This year we have all had to ‘pivot’ and find new ways of reaching out, engaging and doing what we love. The world has changed and our resilience, adaptability and forethought are being tested. It has taken us a year to get this vision together and it has been fraught with logistical, emotional and financial challenges for our designers, yet they have managed to create beautiful collections and share them with us, I commend them all. We have also created a range of clothes for kids with Achondroplasia called She’s Fierce by Cara. This is a very important body of work which screams inclusion. You can see the full story of Cara on CBBC. It is something to watch with your kids and so inspiring. Our offering to you is creative and passionate. We hope you find it engaging and fun! I’d like to say a big thank you to all who came together to create this show.”
