Mondrian Shoreditch unveils abstract light play Christmas Tree, designed by local artist Martin Richman

This year, Mondrian Shoreditch has collaborated with the internationally renowned East-London artist Martin Richman this year to create a bespoke and abstract Christmas tree to be displayed in the hotel’s lobby. The tree, made up of acrylic blades on nylon threads, projects an array of colours around the hotel to create an uplifting and extraordinary visual experience for all guests, which Richman explains ‘’turn in very slight air currents and reflect, or refract, a light source in two changing and opposing colours, depending on angle of film and viewer’’. The collaboration reflects the hotel’s continued support of the local East London artistic community.

General Manager David Lockhart expresses,‘’We are delighted to have collaborated with such a talented and local artist for this project, it is great to see his artwork at the hotel. The Christmas Tree is our visitor’s first glimpse into the beauty of our neighbourhood and hotel and we couldn’t be more proud of ours.”
