National Geographic Traveller Food Festival is back this July – bigger and better than ever
The National Geographic Traveller Food Festival announces its anticipated return to London this summer from Saturday 17th – Sunday 18th July 2021. The capital’s ultimate culinary and travel celebration will bring the very best of the world’s food scene under one roof, for immersive experiences and exclusive menus. For those wishing to get away for the summer, the festival line-up is a one-way ticket to global cultures and cuisines, without needing to bring your passport.
Hosted at London’s Business Design Centre across two days, guests will be immersed in a series of culinary adventures including workshops and masterclasses from some of the world’s greatest chefs. The celebrations will be designed to awaken one’s sense of travel for those who yearn to explore and sample the flavours of the globe. With culinary experiences from the UK, Mediterranean, Caribbean and beyond, the festival is set to bring the very best flavours we have all missed this past year.
Heading up the main stage on Saturday’s kick-off day will be critically acclaimed Spanish chef and restauranteur Jose Pizarro who will explore his Spanish influences followed by author and food writer Fuschia Dunlop who will bring the heat of her Sichuan cooking centre stage. Further names include Michelin-Guide listed Peruvian chef Martin Morales (Ceviche), British chef Jack Stein and Olia Hercules (Ukrainian chef and author) who will be transporting guests to the very roots of their home country by cooking up the delicacies in the capital.
On Sunday, celebrity chef Aldo Zilli will give you a tantalising glimpse into a global kitchen with his delicious Italian delicacies alongside Korean-American TV chef Judy Joo’s ‘Korean made simple’ cooking and French-Caribbean food writer Vanessa Bolosier’s Caribbean inspired dishes.
Alongside live demonstrations, a brilliant selection of hosts including BBC television presenter and fresh produce importer Chris Bavin, Heart Radio presenter Katrina Ridley and food podcaster and stand-up comedian Ollie Horn will all be on hand to ensure the weekend will run smoothly. Head to Speakers’ Corner to catch your favourite food writers and celebrated cookbook authors discuss their latest work, the line-up features Burmese food writer Miml Aye, Hackney Road Morito Head chef Marianna Leivaditaki and Irish chef Jp McMahon.
The festival will feature masterclasses and immersive international experiences with destinations including Georgia, Greece and Wales.
Tickets are available to purchase now from £10 until 31 March; followed by £13 from 1 April – 18 June; finally £20 from 19 June – 19 July (all ticket prices excluding admin charges.)
