Since the origination of an idea on a scrap piece of paper back in 2017, Well Fit Active has been brought to life by a team of women located across the UK. Well Fit Active believes activewear should be for everyone and we should celebrate women’s curves… and that includes wobbly bits, bulges and muffin tops. Whether moving, lifting or stretching, activewear should support, motivate and build confidence.

Well Fit Active have created a range of performance-based, sustainably made activewear for plus-size women. The Well Fit Active range is designed to be inclusive all the way up to a UK size 30. They also offer a modest wear range including sports hijab, and high-waisted full-length leggings and long-sleeve tops for taller bodies. The sports garments are consciously created to fit the body, be comfortable, and boost confidence but don’t cost the earth.

Well Fit Active believes that health and wellness comes in all shapes and sizes and that representation matters. “Well Fit Active was born from the frustrations of not being able to find comfortable, flattering activewear for a plus-sized body” says Sarah Hall, Founder of Well Fit Active.

“Body confidence does not come naturally to everyone when squashed into a crop top and shorts or a baggy t-shirt/tight vest combo and leggings that fall short of their purpose. So I set out to design activewear that fits, flatters and functions! Well Fit Active is designed to perform and created to last so that you can move with confidence.”

Well Fit Active is a slow fashion brand. They create activewear in small batches with minimal waste. Each garment is crafted by hand in their UK studio using sustainably sourced fabric made from recycled ocean plastic. The studio ensures that any scrap material is repurposed as hair scrunchies, and larger pieces are used for prototypes and developments.

Sculpts the body, lifts and supports so you can work out with confidence. Featuring a unique design cinch panel underneath the flattering hourglass top layer, you can tuck into your leggings giving you the freedom to burpee, jump or give that difficult yoga pose a try knowing that you are covered and supported. The compression top fabric is made from recycled ocean plastic. A strong, thick fabric that is never see-through. Innovative moisture-wicking panels on the back and under the arm are breathable mesh fabric that will keep you feeling fresh during your workout.

Consciously created clothing including long length leggings

High-waisted leggings and shorts designed to stay up even during the most intense workouts. Featuring pockets on both sides, positioned lower down the thigh so that your squats are uninterrupted by your phone. Squat-proof and never see-through, their leggings also feature an ample gusset ensuring you are camel-toe-free, with flatlock seams throughout for comfort and durability.

Why choose compression wear? The Well Fit Active compression range is made from a recycled nylon fabric, designed to hold muscles firmly in place and improve blood flow to the muscles, thereby boosting athletic performance. The compression fabric can also help to reduce inflammation and assist the lymphatic system to drain lactic acid buildup from exercising. You may feel less sore the next day and experience less delayed onset muscle soreness as a result.

“Over the years I have been guilty of using the phrase ‘I want to lose weight before I go to a gym’” says Sarah. “Part of the battle for me was finding activewear that fitted my body. There are not many options out there that aren’t a sized-up version of a collection more suited to a smaller body type. I spent years in leggings that were too long, tight vests covered by a baggy t-shirt to hide my ‘problem’ areas and many a workout readjusting tops, waistbands and straps. Well Fit Active was designed for women, like me, who want to exercise without interruption from our clothes, who want to jump around, lift heavy weights or plank with confidence that our clothes are fit for purpose.”

Sustainability. “From the very first conversations about Well Fit Active and how we wanted to conceive a brand that is good for our customers and good for the planet, we have instilled a no-compromise approach to environmental impact. From our fabrics to our packaging, we are always looking to evolve and grow, making sure we use recycled, recyclable and compostable materials and sustainable processes wherever possible. Our fabrics are a minimum of 65% recycled content and can be recycled at the end of their life. We have sourced recycled and FSC-accredited hang tags, recycled and recyclable garment bags and boxes plus compostable mailers. Our postcards and marketing materials are all printed by a UK manufacturer with recycled cards and eco-friendly inks.
