New Shared Ownership homes launched in LB Greenwich by Notting Hill Genesis

Leading housing association Notting Hill Genesis is bringing new homes for first-time buyers to south east London this month, with the highly anticipated launch of Shared Ownership apartments at Kidbrooke Square in the London Borough of Greenwich.

One- and two-bedroom homes are available to buy at this vibrant development, which is emerging into a key piece of this part of London, a stone’s throw from locations such as Greenwich Peninsula and Blackheath village.

The homes are ideally suited to first-time buyers looking for modern living and affordability balanced with space, style, quality and convenience in contemporary surroundings. Prices start from £90,625 for a one-bedroom apartment, and £111,875 for a two-bedroom apartment, both for a 25 per cent share.

A launch event will be held on Saturday 11 March where buyers can visit the development to enjoy a glass of champagne and learn more about the homes on offer. In Kidbrooke Square’s state-of-the-art marketing suite, they can view the development through innovative virtual technology, and be taken through the process of buying a home with Notting Hill Genesis’ expert sales team.

Through Shared Ownership, buyers purchase a share of the property with a mortgage (as little as 25% and up to 75%) and pay subsidised rent on the remaining share. This share can be increased over time until they own 100% of their home. As they are only buying a share of the full market value, the deposit will be based on that share, meaning that buyers may not have to save for as long.

Kidbrooke Square builds on the new neighbourhood and community which is being created in the London Borough of Greenwich. Alongside homes, a café and shops are planned for later stages of the development, which will centre around a village square. The development is close to green space, including Cator Park which is adjacent to Kidbrooke Square, with its grassland, meadows and wetlands, and residents can also enjoy the existing community spaces including regular food markets at Peglar Square together with a supermarket, gym, café and bar/restaurant.

Nearby is Blackheath and Greenwich, which offer independent shops, bars, cafes and restaurants, as well as Greenwich Peninsula which is home to cultural and leisure spaces as well as top dining spots. Kidbrooke Square benefits from excellent transport connections, as direct access to the new train station at Kidbrooke enables travel to London Bridge in 16 minutes, and the DLR is two stops away at Lewisham, linking to Charing Cross and Canary Wharf.

Kidbrooke Square has been designed with the environment and sustainability in mind, with renewable energy embraced throughout, including through solar panels and energy-efficient appliances. Homes feature spacious open-plan living areas, built-in wardrobes and integrated appliances in kitchens, and all enjoy private outdoor space as well as access to resident podium gardens. There is also a dedicated concierge service to meet residents’ needs, and in the future there will be a gym on site.

Philip Wellard-Hughes, Head of Sales at Notting Hill Genesis, said: “Our Kidbrooke Square development is emerging into an exciting new piece of south east London. With high quality homes, local amenities, commercial spaces and green spaces nearby, it’s set to become more popular with buyers. We’d encourage anyone looking to secure a home in this part of London to join our launch event on Saturday 11 March and learn more about the homes on offer.”
