None of the Loose Women liked Schofield, says Carol McGiffin
NONE of ITV’s Loose Women liked Phillip Schofield said Carol McGiffin.
In an interview with GB News, she said: “I don’t know anybody who’s actually ever said out loud that they really like Philip.”
She also said that a runner on Loose Women was let go to make way for Phillip’s young lover.
Carol said: “Everybody was really quite upset about it because you everybody loved him. And he was a great runner…
“I got a text message and it was from the young man in question. And he said, I’m the new production secretary at Loose Women. I thought, ‘hang on a minute. What’s happened here?’”
In a discussion with Dan Wootton, she continued: “It was quite obvious, as Eamonn said the other night, he was a bit troubled, he was quite troubled.
“Some of the other Loose Women I’m pretty sure kind of sensed that he was in a bit of a bad way and kind of, not coached him but tried to comfort him, and I think that he began to open up to some of them and this is when this was the first time that I found this out.”
She was dismissive of Phillip’s denial in a BBC interview that he groomed the young man.
“There is no question he did a bad thing. He did, obviously, mess with this young man’s life. I don’t know the official definition of grooming, but it’s a bit weird that he knew this guy from a very, very young age when he was at the drama school and then suddenly he’s like mentoring him, nurturing him.
“He’s making the showreel, getting him a job and and then suddenly, oh, they’re having an affair. So it certainly looks like that but whether or not you know the whether or not he officially did, it is classic grooming behaviour
“I don’t care how many times you say sorry. It’s like if you keep saying sorry, then everything’s gonna be okay. But as we know, it’s not going to be okay.”
She added: “I spoke to numerous Loose Women at the time, who told me off the record they were very angry to be put in the position of having to work with Phillip Schofield’s young lover because they felt that it put them in an unfair position, because he was going through a lot.
“There were a lot of issues. I won’t go into what the issues were but there were issues with this guy and they thought it was highly unfair that they were almost having to deal with Phillip Schofield’s mess.”
Carol said she thought Phillip and ITV bosses are now collaborating to save This Morning and their own jobs.
She said: “I’m pretty certain that he is he’s trying to take the fall for them all. And the way I see it, they’re so arrogant. Most TV bosses are the same. They’re really arrogant.
“They think they’re invincible and they just think ‘right, let’s just carry on, move along, put Holly back on the show, let’s just get back to normal and everything will be alright, Phillip’s apologised and it’s all going to be okay’, but it’s not going to be okay.”
She added: “I think genuinely that This Morning, this show can’t go on. I think it’s way too tainted.”
