NORFOLK SITE MANAGERS NAMED BEST IN THE COUNTRY FOR QUALITY

Two Site Managers at Barratt and David Wilson Homes’ developments in Norfolk have each won a top national award for the quality of homes they are building.

Halit Kol and Joseph Rolph have won Pride in the Job Quality Awards from the National Housebuilding Council (NHBC), marking them down as among the very best in the country.

Across the country, site managers working for Barratt and David Wilson Homes’ parent company, Barratt Developments, have won 96 Pride in the Job Quality Awards in total this year. This is the 19th year in a row that Barratt Developments site managers have won more of these awards than any other housebuilder.

For his work on David Wilson Homes’ Kingfisher Meadow in Horsford, Halit Kol (45) has achieved his second consecutive Pride in the Job Award. Halit joined the developer six years ago, where he started out as a labourer on the same development.

He won his first Pride in the Job Award last year, in his first year as a Site Manager.

Halit said: “Winning the award last year was one of my proudest achievements to date, but to be recognised for a second successive year is fantastic and I’m thrilled.

“It’s a great feeling to have everyone’s hard work rewarded, and it’s a credit to a company that cares for its employees and customers, as much as it does with quality and health and safety.”

From North Horsham, Joseph Rolph (48) – who has worked with the developer for 11 years and has overseen the construction of Cringleford Heights in Cringleford – has won his fourth successive Pride in the Job award.

Joseph said: “As a team at Cringleford Heights, we’re proud of our achievements on site and we’re happy that everyone’s hard work has paid off.

“Everyone at the development is engaged and highly-skilled, and it’s a huge collaborative effort to win this award.”

The awards rate site managers against key criteria such as technical expertise, health and safety, consistency, leadership and attention to detail. The awards celebrate the vital role site managers play in ensuring new homes are delivered on-time, on safe sites, and to the highest quality standards.

Every site manager who is registered with the NHBC is automatically entered into the awards, with just 450 winners being selected from over 11,000 entrants, showing how difficult they are to win.

A Barratt Developments site manager, Kirk Raine, was named as the Supreme Winner of last year’s NHBC Pride in the Job Quality Awards. In January this year, Kirk was crowned as the winner in the Large Builder category for his work managing The Grove at Doseley Park, near Telford. This is the sixth time that a site manager working for Barratt Developments has won the Supreme award in the past eight years.
Simon Wood, Managing Director at Barratt and David Wilson Homes Anglia, said: “It’s great news for our customers and the business that Halit and Joseph have both won a prestigious Pride in the Job Quality Award.

“The awards showcase what it takes to be a top site manager and demonstrates our long-term commitment to looking after our customers and building high quality homes. We are very proud to have won more of these awards than any other housebuilder for 19 years in a row now.”

These awards closely follow Barratt Developments being awarded five stars by its customers for satisfaction in the annual Home Builders Federation (HBF) new homes survey. To be rated five star means that more than 90% of its customers would recommend one of its homes to a friend, with Barratt and David Wilson Homes being the only major national housebuilder to be rated five star for 14 years in a row.
