Nyetimber announces a record year of sales as they lead the way for English Sparkling Wine

The UK’s leading English Sparkling Wine brand, Nyetimber, achieved a record year in 2021 in both sales and production. To go along with its largest ever harvest, sales were up 55% on the previous year. The pioneers of English Sparkling Wine not only recognised success across the UK but saw a growth of 89% in Europe too. These encouraging figures clearly show Nyetimber is becoming the English Sparkling Wine of choice resulting in Nyetimber Rosé selling out by August 2021 and with Nyetimber Classic Cuvee having to be placed on allocation by the end of the year due to unprecedented demand. With the momentum and excitement behind the market it is only expected that Nyetimber will continue on an upward trajectory with the aim of producing up to 2 million bottles by 2030.

Further highlights of 2021 included Nyetimber being announced as the exclusive English Sparkling Wine served throughout The Savoy Hotel, and the first English Sparkling Wine to accompany their prestigious afternoon tea service. Nyetimber also increased their global presence as they confirmed distribution in Germany and China, continuing to widen the brand’s international recognition with approximately 15% of Nyetimber’s stock being exported in 2021.

Commenting on the year’s performance, Eric Heerema, CEO and Owner of Nyetimber, said: “Demand for Nyetimber continues to grow not just in the UK but internationally as well. It is so satisfying to see the ever-increasing number of enthusiastic consumers appreciating the expertise, hard work and commitment that goes into making each and every bottle of our wine. I am delighted to see Nyetimber, and the industry, continue to grow with such encouraging momentum.”
