On dating, finding love and overcoming feeling lost on X Factor

TALIA Storm has told how she felt “lost” and “used” following her appearance on the X Factor.
The 24-year-old failed to impress judges Simon Cowell, Nicole Scherzinger, Leona Lewis when she appeared in X Factor: The Bands three years ago.
After appearing on the programme Talia said she put on 10kg in weight and her confidence plummeted.
But speaking openly in a new interview with GB News, Talia told how lockdown has dramatically helped her to turn her life around.
She told Mark Dolan how being able to share her music via TikTok and social media was also an important turning point.
She said: “I feel being able to share music like that actually changed my life. If I think about where I was, let’s say in the X Factor era, there was no opportunity to get my music heard.
Whereas now if you can entertain and if you can make people feel something, then you will be heard. It’s about having a personality. And I love TikTok because I can just be myself.
“I want to look good. I want to get up and dress up and make sure that I almost deserve this opportunity to chase my dream if that makes sense. After X Factor I gained like 10 kilograms and I just felt so lost because it felt like people with power were just using me for clickbait.
“Afterwards I just felt so lost but I felt like I just needed to go back to the music. I needed to go sit at the piano and, if anything, lockdown really saved me in terms of just getting at one with the art and I think it all comes back to that. Nowadays I walk 20,000 steps a day and I will make sure that I’m working hard in every aspect of my life.”
Meanwhile Talia also confirmed to Mark Dolan she is currently dating – but wouldn’t comment on who it was.
Asked if it was hard to find someone when you are in the public eye she joked: “You’ve said this because I’ve just written an entire six-page PDF on this whole spiel. I was writing about the fact that I think nowadays because we are (painted) like these alpha women we can scare a lot of the guys away that are meant for us. Because we put on this front and because we are going out there and we are paying our own rent and we are getting the show on the road. And I think that scares away some guys who are actually right for us and attracts the wrong type of man. I’m Scorpio, I love mystery, I love games….”
