We are in a digital era, but the paperless society is still some ways off. Recycling has become common practice to reduce the impact our everyday behaviours on the environment. Yet it remains bothersome how much paper is quickly tossed into the recycling or rubbish bins after hardly being used.

4 billion trees annually are still cut down to meet the demand for paper globally.  Each office averages the use of 10,000 sheets each year, and 50% of this will end up as garbage.  1.9 million tonnes of paper to landfill each year in Australia and the UK uses  12.5 million tonnes of paper and cardboard annually, accounting for one-fifth of all waste produced in the UK.

If each person amplified their efforts our small contribution to aid the environment can have a big impact.

The Classic Paper Saver is made from quality faux leather and hides a functionally designed spring steel binder inside cleverly allowing you to insert old printouts so that the back blank sides of the otherwise would-be discarded paper become the pages of your elegant bounded notebook – professional with a contemporary touch subtly showcasing your sustainable ethos.  Once both sides of the 50 sheets of paper that fit into the Paper Saver are used-up, replenish with more of old printouts – and have an endless paper supply for pages of your Paper Saver Notebook.

The newly launched Leather Paper Saver uses a thick cut of genuine leather encasing the same spring steel binder, with the added feature of a card and document holders made of washable Kraft paper which is tear and spill resistant (!) for the corporate lifestyle with a trendy yet ethical edge.

Designed and created by Jon Yong, a Melbourne-based architect who grew tired of seeing sheets of printed draft designs become obsolete almost as soon as they came off the printer, still warm, he put this idea of The Paper Saver Notebook together.
