People from Sheffield have the SMELLIEST feet in Britain, according to a new study.
Researchers took an in-depth look into the nation’s foot hygiene and revealed a FOOTSIE-INDEX of the UK – with nearly a quarter (22 percent) of residents from the Steel City admitting they suffer from the embarrassing affliction.
Residents of Leicester and Nottingham are also likely to be victims of foul smelling feet according to the poll, while as many as 17 percent of people from Leeds admitted they are struck down with the problem.
Overall, more than one in ten Brits said they constantly suffer from smelly feet and over two thirds (72 percent) have actually had someone comment about their foot odour, much to their embarrassment.
In fact, according to the study commissioned by Odor-Eaters, the leading brand for beating foot odour and sweat – as many as twenty percent of Brits said the condition had affected their love life, while a further 19 percent said their working life had been made difficult by the problem of their smelly feet.
One in five (19 percent) said they are genuinely paranoid about their own foot odour and 63 percent of those polled said the hot weather in summer made their foot problem worse.
