Rebekah Vardy had ‘no evidence’, says Coleen Rooney’s friend Lizzie Cundy
Lizzie said Coleen wanted to be vindicated and she issued her famous statement on Instagram because it was in the public interest.
She told GB News: “It wasn’t about the money. It was about credibility and she [Rebekah] wanted Coleen to say sorry, and sadly, the girls came to loggerheads and neither were going to back down.
“Rebekah felt she had no choice but to take it on to the bigger court to get an apology and to win this because she was saying she had nothing to do with it.
“But it transpired in the court case she just didn’t seem to have the evidence.
“And sadly, those crucial WhatsApp messages were on the bottom of the North Sea and the girl that she was pointing the finger at really saying had access to her Instagram account was her PR agent Caroline watt.
“She was too fragile to make court and really Coleen had such a good strong case.
“They went back to the history of Rebekah which showed that she leaked stories before.
“Peter Andre had his anatomy all over the front pages and it also came out that she had leaked stories on the fellow teammates of her husband.”
Speaking in an interview during the Breakfast show on GB News, Lizzie added: “I think so. And it was so unnecessary and also, you know, she kept blaming everyone else, it’s the PR’s fault and then the other story on Peter Andre…
“There were more twists and turns than a Grand Prix race at Monaco.
She added: “Coleen wants to be vindicated. saying look, I had a good reason to put this out there and it was for the public interest.
“I think the lawyers will be the winners. You’ll see them in Barbados with big extensions, I think, after this.”
