Refurbished family homes launch in highly sought-after Biggin Hill
Biggin Hill, where Annington is refurbishing ex-MOD houses, is one of the most sought-after areas in South East London and North Kent according to Land Registry figures, which reveal that house prices in the area has increased far above average in the past year.
While the annual increase for the whole area was 5% in 12 months, property in Biggin Hill, in the London Borough of Bromley, has soared by 12.6%; while looking at a five-year period, the area has climbed in price by 22% compared to the average in the local area of 13.6%1.
Annington has brought a total of 18 homes on to the market, with the first three properties available now – two four-bedroom homes and a single three-bedroom detached house. The homes have been lightly refurbished, with scope for further enhancements, and represent a good investment in the area. The properties are set in a mature leafy setting, each house sitting on a good-sized plot with their own driveways and garages. Further phases will include a mixture of three- and four-bedroom houses, both detached and semi-detached.
Ian Beagley, partner at selling agent Ibbett Mosely, said that the three homes located in Westerham on the outskirts of Biggin Hill town were ideally situated, close to open park space and slightly away from the main bustle of Biggin Hill. “The houses are set in a private estate, in a slightly more exclusive location outside the main area of the town,” he said. “They will come freshly decorated and with new floor coverings, and as they date from the 1940/50s they have more spacious rooms and bigger gardens than most of the 1960s houses in the nearby area, so buyers will be getting more for their money.”
Louise Saunders, Sales and Marketing Manager at Annington, commented: “These spacious family homes are ready to move into, but also offer a great opportunity to buy a property that can be shaped and improved to suit the owner. They feature good-sized rooms and gardens, and we are expecting keen interest from buyers.”
The homes have been given a new lease of life by Annington. With their spacious gardens and traditional interiors, the houses offer fantastic accommodation for growing families – and parents will also appreciate the fact that the three nearest schools, Oaklands Primary School and Biggin Hill Primary School and the secondary Charles Darwin School are all rated as Good by Ofsted. There is plenty of green space in the area, including Biggin Hill Recreation Ground, with sporting pitches and a skate bowl, and nearby Saltbox Hill, a Site of Special Scientific Interest managed by the London Wildlife Trust.
