Remembrance day feature from King Edward VII’s veteran’s work
King Edward VII hospital continues to have veterans’ care at its heart as a charitable hospital. It is now working to double the number of veterans it supports each year by the end of 2023.
The hospital’s Centre for Veterans’ Health also has ambitious plans for the future including supporting more veterans through its Pain Management Programme (PMP) and also providing a greater number of 100% means-tested military grants and subsidies.
To better support veterans (and their spouses and partners), the hospital also conducts research into the health needs of veterans. Plus, it recently established a new Veterans’ Health Advisory Board, chaired by Martin Bricknell CB OStJ, former Surgeon General of the UK Armed Forces and who is now Professor in Conflict, Health and Military Medicine at King’s College London.
With this in mind, we thought you might be interested in working with us to create a tailored piece about the King Edward VII’s Hospital’s Centre for veterans’ health in honour of all veterans that have served, been injured or even laid down their lives in the line of service for the UK with a focus on what the hospital does for this country’s veterans.
To help the process along we could set up interviews with case studies who have been treated at the hospital, as well as a discussion with Alex Le Vey, who is the Director of Philanthropy & Veterans’ Health. We could even offer a tour of the hospital to give a more inside first hand view of the work being done there.
