REVEALED: Daisy Ridley is the UK’s most bankable female film star
New research has found that Star Wars star, Daisy Ridley is the UK’s most bankable female film star with her films making an average of £501 million at the global box office.
Analysis conducted by CasinoSites.org studied box office website The-Numbers to find that the seven films where Ridley had a leading role grossed an average of £501 million, with the most notable release being “Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens”. Therefore, this makes Daisy Ridley the most bankable female film star in the UK.
Black Panther star Letitia Wright takes a close second with an average of £497 million across her nine leading roles. Wright also stars in the sequel “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” due to be released in 2022. The first film became one of the most popular superhero movies of all time, grossing £1.1 billion worldwide.
Emma Watson takes third place with an average of £447 million across 15 films, with her roles in the Harry Potter franchise seeing her shoot up the list. Her other leading roles includes her role as Belle in the live action take of Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast” which saw immediate success upon its release in 2017, grossing £1 billion in its worldwide box office run.

Emily Blunt also features in the top ten with an average of £74 million spanned across her 26 leading roles. This news comes after she joined the cast of Christopher Nolan’s newest film “Oppenheimer” alongside Cillian Murphy.
Also making the list is Emma Thompson, with an average of £109 million across the 19 leading roles she has played in her 30-year career. Thompson recently starred opposite Emma Stone in Disney’s “Cruella” which grossed £165 million worldwide.
