Rhianna shined bright like $3.2 million worth of diamonds at the Superbowl
With everybody talking about Rihanna’s Superbowl performance, I wanted to share the below information about the array of diamonds that she was wearing.
Rihanna performed at the State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, in front of a global audience estimated to be 100 million – taking to the field for 13 straight minutes of non-stop performing, where she sang a medley of her biggest hits.
Dressed in a bright red jumpsuit with a matching breastplate, the superstar accessorised with three vintage brooches, a watch, a pink ring and a wealth of sparkling earrings.
Diamond experts at UK retailer Steven Stone have taken a close look at the dazzling diamonds that could be seen during Rihanna’s performance and have revealed everything you need to know.
Rihanna’s three vintage brooches were designed by Joseph Saidian and Sons
Comprised of emerald cut and round brilliant diamonds, Rihanna’s first brooch appears to be in the shape of a heart with a tear shaped pearl attached to the bottom. Our experts estimate it to be worth $40k
Featuring a huge round brilliant diamond centre stone in a halo setting, surrounded by swirls of smaller round brilliant cut diamonds, Rihanna’s second brooch is almost in the shape of a medal, with lines of Princess cut and round brilliant cut diamonds taking the place of the ribbon. Our experts estimate it to be worth $60k – making it the most valuable of the three brooches
Rihanna’s third brooch is an interesting piece – in what appears be a U shape, it features multiple diamond cuts and sizes. Our experts estimate it to be worth $35k
Rihanna’s watch is the Brilliant Skeleton Northern Lights watch from Jacob & Co, which retails for $72k
On her right hand, Rihanna was sporting a 19.47 carat ruby ring from fine jewellery company, Bayco. Our experts estimate it to be worth a staggering $3 million.
For earrings, Rihanna chose an abundance of diamond pieces from Messiko – based on similar products on the designers website, these are likely to carry a total value of $12k
Zack Stone, Leading Diamond, Expert, Steven Stone: “Rihanna well and truly returned to the live music circuit with a bang – announcing her second pregnancy and impressing with a huge performance that featured both her greatest hits and jewels.
Rihanna has partnered with some of the biggest and best houses in the world for her statement-making jewellery moments, so it was no surprise to see her wearing pieces from world-famous designers. The jewels that caught our eye were the three vintage brooches that she had on show, which were designed by Joseph Saidian and Sons. Featuring hundreds of diamonds – of all cuts and sizes – I’d estimate them to carry a total value of $135k.
The superstar was also wearing Jacob & Co’s Brilliant Skeleton Northern Lights watch, which retails for $72k and a ring from Bayco on her right hand. With clients that include royalty, Bayco is one of the world’s elite purveyors of fine jewellery and precious gems, making the 19.47 carat ruby ring likely to be worth approximately $3 million.
Rihanna chose an abundance of diamond pieces from Messiko to decorate her ears with. Though they don’t appear to be available for purchase at this moment in time, based on similar products on the designers website, we can assume that they’re likely to carry a total value of at least $12k.
Taking all of this into consideration, Rihanna was highly likely to be sporting a staggering $3.2 million worth of diamonds during her performance at this year’s Superbowl.”
