RM SOTHEBY’S ANNOUNCES THE ROAD AND TRACK COLLECTION BOASTING 16 INCREDIBLE EXAMPLES: THE MAJORITY MODERN DAY SUPERCARS

RM Sotheby’s is excited to announce The Road and Track Collection, a truly remarkable selection of landmark cars, many of which boast exceptional ownership histories from new. Offered from a private collector, each car will be offered entirely without reserve at RM Sotheby’s forthcoming Munich sale on 25 November.

The highlight of the collection is the brutal 2016 Lamborghini Aventador LP750-4 SV Coupé. Finished in the Rosso Bia over a black and red interior, this incredible machine is powered by a 6.5-litre V-12 engine producing 740 BHP, and boasts a 50kg weight saving compared to the earlier Aventador. With just 965 kilometres reading on the odometer, and with one owner from new, this ‘as new’ machine is estimated to sell between €430,000 – €480,000 EUR.

Also for lovers of track-orientated sports cars is the 2018 Porsche 911 GT2 RS ‘Weissach’, the most powerful road-going 911 ever built at its time of launch. The example offered is specified with the highly desirable ‘Weissach’ package and boasts just one owner from new and a mere 2,218 kilometres on the odometer (Estimate: €380,000 – €430,000 EUR)

For lovers of blue-chip ‘70s sports cars, the collection also features a highly collectible E-Series 1973 Ferrari Dino 246 GT by Scaglietti. Finished in its stunning factory-correct colour pairing of Blu Chiaro over a Nero interior, this example benefits from a recent restoration, and only completed its final running-in this year, so it presents in exceptional condition (Estimate: €300,000 – €350,000 EUR).

Also offered is a 2005 Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren finished in Crystal Laurit Silver Metallic over red. This example has undergone €46,000 of maintenance in 2020 and is estimated at €250,000 – €300,000 EUR. The 2008 Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione is offered with just 19,362 kilometres on the clock and is one of just 500 made (Estimate: €210,000 – €240,000 EUR).

There is a remarkable offering of special-edition BMWs offered within the collection. This includes a 1992 BMW M3 Sport Evolution, which is one of just 600 built, finished in its factory-correct colour of Jet Black; this example also retains its matching-numbers engine. It underwent a major mechanical recommissioning in 2021 and is estimated to sell between €180,000 – €200,000 EUR. The 2001 BMW Z8 is presented in its factory-correct colour scheme of Titan Silver Metallic over a Red and Black Nappa leather interior (Estimate: €175,000 – €210,000 EUR). Also offered is a 2022 BMW M4 Edition 50 Jahre BMW M, a model created to celebrate 50 years of BMW M cars; this example is offered with just one owner from new and a mere 1,485 kilometres on the clock (Estimate: €140,000 – €170,000 EUR).

Continuing the strong BMW theme within the collection is a 2018 BMW M3 CS, first registered to BMW France and used as a press demonstrator (Estimate: €85,000 – €105,000 EUR); a 2020 BMW M2 CS, finished in Misano Blue Metallic with just 2,110 kilometres on the clock (Estimate: €80,000 – €100,000 EUR); and a 2016 BMW M3 30 Jahre Edition, built to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the BMW M3, finished in Macao Blue Metallic (Estimate: €65,000 – €85,000 EUR).

Other highlights from the collection include a 1959 Chevrolet Corvette, which benefits from €13,000 of works earlier in 2023, including a full repaint in its attractive shade of Frost Blue (Estimate: €80,000 – €100,000 EUR). A 1994 Lancia Delta HF Integrale Evoluzione II ‘Giallo Ginestra’ will also be offered from the collection, which is the final iteration of the legendary Lancia Delta HF Integrale. Rare, with just 220 limited-edition ‘Giallo Ginestra’ variants, this example is estimated to sell between €80,000 – €100,000 EUR.

And for rally fans there is a 1979 Opel Kadett C GT/E Group 2 ‘Ex-Carenini’, prepared by the legendary Italian company Tuning Carenini, and which was subject to a complete nut-and-bolt restoration from 2019 to 2021 (Estimate: €55,000 – €75,000 EUR). Finally, the collection features a 1984 Mercedes-Benz 500 SLC (Estimate: €35,000 – €50,000 EUR) and a 1974 Volkswagen Beetle Cabriolet by Karmann (Estimate: €20,000 – €25,000 EUR).
