RUGBY LEAGUE WORLD CUP 2021 VOLUNTEER PROGRAMME RECIEVES RECORD INTEREST
Rugby League World Cup 2021 (RLWC2021) arrives in England this autumn and planning for the world’s biggest and best Rugby League World Cup ever is well underway.
Since opening for applications in February, The Power Squad programme received a record number of volunteer interest for a Rugby League event, with more than 5,000 applications for selection and 10,000 expressions of interest. The Power Squad volunteers will play a key role in delivering the tournament, supporting across a range of responsibilities, including Spectator Services, Event Operations, Broadcast & Media, Transport, Hospitality and Accreditation.
Rugby League World Cup will be working closely with all tournament partners to help deliver a long-lasting legacy for volunteering within Rugby League after the World Cup has finished.
RLWC2021 Workforce Operations Lead, Kate Halliday, said: “We are delighted to see the excitement and enthusiasm from the Rugby League and volunteering community which has been displayed through the number of applications to be part of The Power Squad.”
