SOCIALITE Lady Victoria Hervey has claimed the King has always been jealous of his brother, Andrew.
In an interview on GB News the 46-year-old also said she believed Andrew had been “very badly advised” in recent years and that people weren’t seeing the real person.
Ms Harvey, who used to date the Prince, told Mark Dolan: ““That interview on Newsnight was very badly advised. They had a representative from Buckingham Palace in that interview apparently. So it’s almost like they wanted to set him up. That’s how it felt.
“I think Charles, as the older brother, has always been a bit jealous of him. He had a very successful military career for 20 years. I’ve heard that he’s always been jealous of him. So as soon as the Queen has gone, the daggers are out. Charles has inherited how much money and yet, he can’t help his brother out? Prince Andrew was made to settle, he didn’t have a choice, and then as soon as he was made to do it, they then just took everything else away, little by little.”
She added: “Virginia Giuffre who accused him, he’s never even met her. He had some really bad advice, I think. Basically, he had lawyers that were criminal lawyers for a civil case and so had terrible advice. I saw that photo – the photo of him with his arms around – and there’s nothing real about that photo. There’s probably 50 things wrong with that photo.”
The story comes as a new poll reveals Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s popularity has slumped in the US and they are now even more unpopular than Prince Andrew. Prince Harry was disliked by 42 percent of Americans, compared to 32 percent who said they liked him, according to a new Newsweek poll, which has not disclosed how many people participated.
Meghan was liked by 27 percent of Americans compared to 44 percent who did not.
