the vibrant East London gateway to Shoreditch and Brick Lane, is launching the summer season with the Fresh & Unboxed Weekender, taking place Thursday 1 – Sunday 4 June. The four-day Weekender will be the first in a series of events to unveil the destination’s brand new look after 18 months of renovations, bringing together the area’s independent shops and restaurants and celebrating its community.

The Weekender will also introduce London’s newest food hub on Lamb Street. Joining Spitalfields’ already exciting independent collective are nine exciting food operators; including Italian superstars the Pizza Guys, who are launching their first ever branch in the UK; Rudies Jerk Shack; Dos Mas Tacos; Ebby’s Kitchen; Burger & Beyond; Duck Truck; Smokoloko; Wicked Fish; and I-Thai.

Celebrate the start of summer on Lamb Street:
Kofte & Halloumi wrap specialists Ebby’s Kitchen is giving out free halloumi fries with every order from Thursday – Sunday (Only redeemable via the Spitalfields app)
Additional restaurant brands taking over include; Burger & Beyond, Duck Truck, Smokoloko, Wicked Fish, Mammas Goodies, Arabica Coffee, Jenki Matcha and I-Thai

Additional food attractions in Spitalfields include the Punk Chef – the first ever deaf TV Chef Presenter to emerge in mainstream television today – who will be launching a pop up restaurant and offering employment to those with impaired hearing. Brother Marcus will host an Ostrich Egg Extravaganza, a brunch featuring an ostrich egg equivalent of 24 chicken eggs, which was first launched for the Queen’s Jubilee in 2022 from Thursday – Sunday. Finally, Kill The Cat will open a pop-up bar on Bishop’s Square, serving their signature craft beers and ciders from Thursday to Sunday, to give visitors a taste of what to expect from their permanent opening in Spitalfields later this summer.

Spice up your weekend with a free Open-Air Screening, Live Music & Fitness Challenges in Bishops Square Garden:
See the musical classic Moulin Rouge! in an open-air film screening on Friday night between 6pm-9pm. Tickets are free, with limited amount of spaces being offered on a first come first served basis
Enjoy a line up of live music everyday between 1pm – 5pm, including Latin Twist Trio (Thursday), Marcus Solo (Friday) and Gypsy Roses Duo (Sunday)
Learn to dance with free classes from Swing Patrol (Thursday, 6pm-8pm & Saturday, 2pm – 4pm) and Tango-Fever (Friday, 5pm – 9pm)
Get a sweat on with the famous Barry’s Red Room, who are offering 50 minute bodyweight class for only £5, with a free shake after the class (Saturday 3rd June, 11am), while wellness workspace Until is hosting a sled pushing competition, as well as ice baths to cool down (Thursday – Saturday)
Explore the art market popping up in Crispin Place and support both up-and-coming and established local artists (Friday – Sunday), as well as the Spitalfields Traders Market with 90 market stalls offering contemporary and vintage fashion, music, jewellery and accessories (every day)
