Stonham Barns Park Host Legends Comi Con Weekender

Star Wars Fans Host ‘Legends Comic Con Weekender’
also featuring Ghostbusters and many more film and TV characters

Stonham Barns Park – one of Suffolk’s premier leisure, retail and holiday destinations – has
welcomed an exciting new event for fans of comic books, movies and video games.

The Legends Comic Con Weekender – organised and hosted by avid Star Wars fans Jason Buxton and David Chaplin – attracted around 2000 followers of film and fantasy culture of all ages on both days of the show. The event was supported by Combat2Coffee, a charity offering rehabilitation, veteran outreach, and training courses for members of the British forces, who were in attendance to fundraise, with the support of Vader’s Raiders Costume Group and other cosplay groups from around the UK.

The Legends Comic Con Weekender featured characters from Star Wars, Ghostbusters, Power
Rangers – and even The Grinch – and many other film and TV characters who were there to provide photo selfies and personal interactions.

Among the actors attending the event were Frank Harper, Daniel Eghan, Martin Ballantyne, Eileen Roberts, Ty Hurley, Doug Grant, David Stone and Nathan Pegler.

Legends founder, Jason Buxton said ‘The weekender was a huge success channelling some fantasy film vibes. We put the focus firmly on bringing TV, film and games characters to life and the atmosphere was awesome.’

To have such legendary actors joining us to meet the public and do signings was more than we could have hoped for. We had such positive feedback from everyone despite the stormy weather. The event is certainly going to be booked again for next year and it can only grow based on this first-time Vader Raiders full event experience.’

‘There is a massive cosplay following in the region and so it made the effort all worthwhile.’

Comic cons are staged around the UK and worldwide. Fans who attend these events often
participate in Cosplay or dressing up as fictional characters. Those staged in major cities
worldwide attract writers, artists, actors and directors who are often looking at film trends and the next big movie idea.

Stonham Barns Park is a bustling family complex offering accommodation, attractions and activities based in the heart of Suffolk, UK. Activities at the leisure, retail and holiday venue include The Suffolk Owl Sanctuary, Café 24 Restaurant, Legends Sports Bar, The Golf Centre including Adventure Golf and FootGolf, and new Adventure FootGolf Course, The Teapot Pottery, holiday lodges, a caravan park, camping and glamping and fishing lakes.

Stonham Barns Park has been serving the community of Suffolk since it first opened in 1987 and is still as much a family destination as it was when it first opened, and it is now becoming a more
prominent part of Suffolk tourism which is growing exponentially year on year. Stonham Barns
