Strongbow launches tattoo service for die-hard cider fans stuck with tatts of the old branding
Strongbow has announced a cheeky new Tattoo Switchers service for any cider superfans stuck with old Strongbow body art, following its recent debut of a fresh new look.
After bidding farewell to its iconic black and gold colour palette for the first time since the 1960s, callers flocked to Strongbow’s dedicated support hotline to share their dismay over the modern makeover – especially those with permanent tatts of the original Strongbow branding.
One such fan, Dana, said: “I’m absolutely broken-hearted that Strongbow have changed their image! After all, I had it tattooed on my arm. What in the world am I supposed to do now?”
The new service follows Strongbow’s previous tattoo parlour pop-up in 2018, where Dark Fruit die-hard fans, like Dana, could immortalise their love for the fruity-flavour with permanent body art – leaving them in need of some fresh new ink when Strongbow spread its wings and said farewell to its old look.
So, to help its community of committed cider lovers, the nation’s favourite cider has teamed up with resident Tattoo Switcher and London-based artist to the stars, Emily Malice, to design three new and exclusive tattoos, inspired by the rebrand, that can be inked anywhere on their bodies (within reason).
Each design encapsulates Strongbow’s vibrant new look and incorporates nods to the fruity flavours that have cultivated a superfan following, from Strongbow Dark Fruit to Original, Rosé, Cloudy Apple and the newest addition to the much-loved line-up, Strongbow Tropical.
Marketing Director, Rachel Holms, says: “Strongbow, Dark Fruit has a real cult following – from people having cider themed birthday cakes, fancy dress outfits and perhaps most surprisingly, tattoos. For those superfans who showed their dedication with a tatt, and anyone else with Strongbow themed ink, we’re really pleased to give them a chance to get kitted out with a fresh new look. Although we totally understand that many will still love the retro look.”
Emily Malice, Tattoo Artist says: “Who doesn’t love a tinny? I’m really excited to have teamed up with the cider makers to help some lucky fans with the more ‘vintage’ tattoos get tattooed with some cute new designs I’ve created, inspired by Strongbow’s modern new look.”
Anyone with a permanent tattoo(s) of Strongbow’s original branding is eligible to apply for the Tattoo Switchers service. So, what are you waiting for? DM @strongbowUK with a snap of your old body art now to be in with a chance of securing an appointment with Emily Malice. T&Cs apply.
