Sweet Caroline crowned Britain’s ultimate karaoke song
Sweet Caroline by Neil Diamond has been crowned the nation’s ultimate karaoke tune, following new nationwide research from Butlin’s, the home of entertainment.
Nearly half of UK adults (46%) belt out their favourite karaoke hits at least once a month, with sing-along classics, We Will Rock You by Queen and ABBA’s Dancing Queen, placing second and third in the ultimate top three list, according to the research.
The research was commissioned by Butlin’s to celebrate the start of the new ‘The Masked Singer’ live shows, which will be coming to its Skegness, Bognor Regis and Minehead resorts this half term.
The musical guessing extravaganza is a new addition to the already incredible entertainment line-up at Butlin’s, cementing its position as the home of entertainment.
When it comes to live shows, Butlin’s new study revealed that Queen front man Freddie Mercury is the nation’s number one live musical performer of all time, while ABBA were featured again as the ultimate artist to sing while performing karaoke.
What’s more, data revealed that singing is good for wellbeing, with almost half of Brits (47%) saying that singing out loud makes them feel good and boosts their mood, while over a third of the nation (36%) get on the mic while on holiday.
Each of ‘The Masked Singer’ live shows at Butlin’s will be hosted by a celebrity presenter, and like the renowned TV show, the best bit will be saved until the end when two celebrity performers are unmasked.
Brilliant images show characters exploring their new home ahead of the live shows. With elaborate costumes, head-scratching clues, and musical mayhem, the showstopping performances will be sure have fans chanting ‘Take it off!’.

To treat a nation of songbirds and celebrate the iconic characters heading to Butlin’s, the home of entertainment is launching a competition giving one lucky family the ultimate VIP The Masked Singer experience at a Butlin’s resort of their choice.
The winners will receive a Butlin’s break (to watch the show live in action), as well as the opportunity to sit on the iconic judging panel and be front and centre when the unmasking takes place, and more!
